I remember what is was like being young and in love
i thought this girl before me was from God above
yet it didn't last for long
i cried a stream of tears long
a fears went by and along came someone new
who i thought would stick like glue
but when i began to cling to closely
she left leaving me lonely
after her i spent years going after women and girls
giving what i thought was love a whirl
yet through it all this i learned
love may be given yet trust is earned
And love is not enough to pull through
there has to be a glue
concrete, a foundation
that goes beyond consummation
Beyond the moments passion
beyond feelings fashion
a place of common ground
a place to be safe a place to found
something that holds tight together
so the bond last's through any weather
love is not just a fun feeling
its something that brings healing
a improvement to life
something that brings alive
all the dreams hidden in the heart
giving them a jump start

God likes Red Hair
The fish are still
In the shallows of your soul
But you get what you pay for
I think I’ll open a vein and call for a nurse
She’ll bring a needle the size of your heart
You would wonder what
I’m talking about if
You had a stick so long
It’s a contest to see who really ruined everything
And I’m gonna make a play. Who knows?
It hasn’t crossed my mind
In two pages of quelling rages
No more will I see you
I seem to do everything in five stanzas
It’s a pattern in a Universe where random is a pattern
And nothing gets done if it doesn’t break the mold
You did so long

The midnight falls upon
The city, like a blanket
Of black & blue.
And to lift this strangeness
And coldness, I think quietly
Of you.
The warmer days of your smile,
The breath's ocean currents,
The kisses that came as
Fires, so lovely and strange
& sudden!
The nights of the stormy
Planets, when the atmosphere
Felt dense as an oven's,
Because we were together,
Flaming, foolishly loving!
And now we're physically
Separated, and maybe it is right,
But I still think of you
When the blanket, falls
In the form of the midnight.

I don't think you'll ever understand
how much this kills me inside.
I lost everything.
I lost my love, my life, my future.
And you string my heart along
just to let me down again.
How am I supposed to trust you?
to believe in you?
I just don't know anymore.
We'll never get back what we lost.
Why pretend?
My heart calls out to yours
but only gets silence.
